As a Senior Manager, Business Intelligence , you will provide technical/operational advisories and lead an innovation team to enhance and optimize BI and Analytics capabilities within International Banking Collections operations. The individual will work & collaborate with various counterparts in LATAM and Caribbean regions to collect and gather necessary information and data to unify and standardize IB Collections reporting matrices and real-time dashboard KPIs reporting. The individual will be under the guidance & supervision of the director.


  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Drives and builds requirements and solutions that define the work in key initiatives, enabling business partner groups to effectively meet their goals and objectives. Maintains relationship with business management to identify technology needs and align application services to support those needs.

  • Interprets functional requirements and translates them into technical specifications that are well documented and implementable

  • Provides sophisticated analysis of very complex business/function/system information and makes comprehensive recommendations/proposals to management including executives, clients and business leaders.

  • Monitors application services performance, results and effectiveness to the business

  • Stays abreast of emerging technical trends and ensures application services best practices reflect appropriate technological developments for competitive business position.

  • Designs, implements and distributes monthly, quarterly and yearly dashboard reporting to various business stakeholders

  • Designs, builds and tests dashboards, reports, applications and portal interfaces including SSIS packages for ETL processes, SQL Agent jobs, SSRS automated reports, SQL code/stored procedures, triggers•

  • Develops and maintains the semantic layer of business intelligence, metadata, reports, and report definitions

  • Develop and maintain programs and automation that support data architecture and enhance data quality

  • Determines the logical design characteristics and information management strategies to store, move, and manage data in addition to improving the performance, scalability and stability of databases and application processes

  • Designs, develops and maintains database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, triggers) in SQL 2008 R2 to SQL 2016 environments and identifies issues and improvements to existing SQL processes for optimal efficiency

  • Creates and suggests indexes, data structures, in-memory tables, and other performance tuning concepts to incorporate best industry practices into the product suite

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Champions a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.


  • Bachelor’s and/or Masters Degree in Math, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field is preferred

  • Strong analytical skills in system designs, process re-engineering and documenting user requirements.

  • Expert knowledge in data mining, analytical and business intelligence principles and queries.

  • Strong knowledge in Windows based operating systems Windows 2008, 2012 and 2014

  • Strong SQL2008/2012/2014//2016 knowledge (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, PL/SQL,T-SQL queries, stored procedures, user defined functions, triggers, index, view),

  • Strong performance analysis and optimization tools and the ability to troubleshoot queries, suggest indexes or design modifications, and help to incorporate best practices of database design

  • Proficient with Power BI, Tableau

  • Proficient with Oracle RDBMS, Polybase, R, Python

  • Strong writing skills in documenting user requirements and liaise well with counter-parts or divisions to address the matter at hand.

  • Knowledge in Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) databases and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) databases

  • Ability to communicate and convey technical concepts to clients in “layman terms”.

  • Possess good listening & communicating skills.

Although not necessary, it would also be nice if the individual possesses the following skill sets:

• Agile, Project Management

• Microsoft Certified Professional/Developer/Database Administrator

• Experiences and knowledge with Big data, Hadoop, Hive, SAS

• Experiences with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects

This position is located in downtown Toronto and is a 6 month contract.
